For the makers and tinkerers out there, this RP2040-PiZero board is a seriously capable little microcontroller! It's built around the Raspberry Pi RP2040 chip with a dual-core ARM Cortex M0+ processor that can run up to 133 MHz - plenty of power for most projects.
What's really cool are the built-in features: there's a DVI interface that can drive most HDMI screens (as long as they're DVI compatible), a TF card slot for extra storage, and a PIO-USB port that lets you use it as either a USB host or slave device. The 16MB of onboard flash gives you decent storage for your programs.
It's compatible with the Raspberry Pi 40-pin GPIO header, so if you're familiar with Raspberry Pi projects, you'll feel right at home. There's even a lithium battery header for mobile projects, which is super handy.
You can program it in C/C++, MicroPython, or Arduino - though the DVI and PIO-USB functions only work in C environment and can't be used simultaneously. The board comes with 264KB of SRAM, temperature sensor, accelerometer, and all the standard interfaces you'd expect.
Whether you're building a custom display project, IoT device, or just learning embedded systems, this board offers great performance and flexibility at a very reasonable price point. Waveshare provides good online resources and support too!
